Whistling Duck, our romantic one bedroom cottage has a full kitchen, living room and bath with shower. It's located on beautiful Lochaber beach in Clarence Town, Long Island, Bahamas. French doors open into the living room from the queen bedroom with connecting bath. This bath has a pedestal sink with a painted wood carved island mirror and a lovely hand crafted featured tile of a mermaid and her seamaster. A private veranda with an attached outdoor shower is through another french door from the bedroom. Windows abound with special water views. The porch deck has a swing and a few steps take you to a covered gazebo placed right at the edge of the water. This cottage has privacy but is within a short drive to well stocked stores and great island fare restaurants. If being lulled to sleep with the sounds of the ocean and awaken by the singing of the island birds sounds wonderful to you, this is the place to be!

Whistling Duck Cottage is located in a neighborhood of other beautiful homes on Long Island, Bahamas. Long Island is roughly 80 miles long and three miles wide. It is a family friendly island and is very safe and laid back. Area residents are very friendly and helpful. This cottage is situated 50 feet from the water. Properties with palm trees, flowers with profusions of a myriad of colors, decorate the roadside area. The nearest town is Clarence Town which is only one and a half miles from the cottage. Both Clarence Town and Deadman's Cay host heath clinics. There are numerous island restaurants, stores and a bakery close by. The people are family friendly and eager to provide answers to all questions. Items of interest are 2 blue holes, with one located right on Lochaber beach. Already the smell of freshly brewed coffee, relaxing in a wicker chaise, and the warmth of the sun, lure you to come and soak in the area known as beautiful Lochaber.

For a fee:
New ocean tandem (2 person) kayak rental available.
Rate: Damage or lost deposit of $100. This is refunded by mail after departure day if kayak/paddles are returned in same condition as received.
Life jackets are provided and required for use when kayaking.
Daily housekeeping, bone fishing with guides, boat rental (at nearby marina)or car rental may be arranged.
